The Advantages Of Owning Commercial Vehicles Like The Work Horse

If you live on a plot or a smallholding where you cultivate vegetables or fruit then you may end up needing a suitable vehicle to transport your produce to market. On the other hand, maybe you keep livestock or perhaps a few horses and need to bring in feed for them, then you most certainly won’t want to mess up the family car doing so hence you need what is commonly referred to as a ‘work horse’.

Commercial vehicles like the aforementioned work horse are built with a lot more torque than a regular sedan or hatchback and while they might not look pretty, they’re excellent for transporting large loads of heavy items. This vehicle may not have a very good top end but it will manage to climb up hills a lot more easily than a sedan with a similar load would be able to do.

The load bed of a work horse is a little larger than that of the average bakkie which means you’ll be able to pile more into it and consequently make fewer trips to do the same amount of work which will save you money on things like petrol and wear and tear on the vehicle.

The load carrying capacity of commercial vehicles also means that a work horse has shorter ratios between the gears with the result that there’s less strain on the engine when you’re carrying a large load. You’ll have to change gears more often but when you change gears the car will handle the power requirement change a lot better.

You’ll probably be called upon to help friends with moving if they don’t own commercial vehicles themselves. It’s great for going camping as there’s plenty of space in the back for luggage and, if you have a canopy, the kids and dogs as well. I’m sure that you would be able to find any number of ways to make good use of your work horse vehicle if you had one and a work horse is really a good investment if you have any need for a load bearing vehicle.
