Why It’s Handy To Have A 4x4 Bakkie

Have you ever had to transport something like a fridge or a washing machine? Large appliances like this simply don’t fit into the back of a regular car like a hatchback or sedan not to mention that they are extremely heavy and the suspension of a normal car isn’t built to accommodate heavy loads. This is when a 4x4 bakkie comes in handy.

You can simply remove the canopy of the bakkie and load up your washing machine and fridge all in one go. The 4x4 bakkie will be able to handle both the weight and the size of the appliances with ease. All you have to do is make sure that you tie them down properly so that they do not have any chance of falling off the back of the bakkie.

Now let’s take a look at transporting heavy, messy stuff like sand. It’s not nice to try to clean sand out of the boot of a sedan or hatchback. A bakkie doesn’t have any carpets in the back so there’s nothing for the sand to stick to which makes unloading and cleaning the back a lot easier. And, as we mentioned previously, a 4x4 bakkie is also a lot stronger than a sedan or hatchback so you won’t put as much strain on it as you would an ordinary car.

There are plenty of other ways that a bakkie can be very useful and most of them have to do with transporting large or heavy loads. They have gear ratios that can handle the loads and the torque as well. If you try and do with your sedan or hatchback what you can do with a bakkie you’re going to damage your car. If you don’t own a bakkie then it’s a good idea to see if you can borrow one from a friend or hire one from a car rental agency. Don’t use your car if you need to transport something that a 4x4 bakkie would handle better. You may get the job done, but hiring a bakkie will be a lot cheaper than the potential repairs on your car.
