Why Are Canopies Essential For Bakkies?

Once you have purchased your bakkie, you will undoubtedly be eager to buy some accessories to make your off road adventures more enjoyable and convenient.

There is one bakkie accessory that cannot be done without, and that is a canopy. So why are canopies so essential? Well firstly, you can take a look at how you will be utilising your bakkie on a daily basis. If you have a single cab bakkie, then you really need to consider purchasing a good canopy. You need to consider where you will put your shopping bags and the other goods that get transported if you do not have a back seat? Sure, you can throw the things into the cargo bed, but what if it rains? Sometimes high winds and rain can swoop down on us unexpectedly. Even if you do have a double cab bakkie, you may have children or other people to transport in the back. Children will most likely have sports equipment and perhaps school bags that you will need to find space for. It is just safer to put all these belongings in the cargo bed protected by a canopy.

Canopies are especially important for off road adventures too! When you are going on an off road journey, you will find that you have a lot of things to take along with you, sometimes including camping equipment, cooler boxes and luggage. Ideally, you would pull a trailer. But what if you don't have a trailer, or what if you are already pulling a trailer containing your boat or off road motor bikes? This is where the cargo bed comes in handy. You can put all your extra travel belongings in the cargo bed, but you will need to protect them. Getting a good canopy will protect your luggage from the rain and the wind and from any thieving hands.

There are many lovely canopy covers available for bakkies. You can choose from different types of tarpaulin. Once you have the hang of it, they are easy to take on and off and will add convenience to your travels.
